Team building not only encompasses the normal team that we think of. Team refers to the many relationships that are evident in a community, and team building is involved with ensuring the effectiveness of these relationships. MPC can observe the dynamics that are evident in the team and suggest methods that may improve the dynamics, or just give the team an indication of the dynamics so that an understanding may be reached. The relationships between various members of the team may be addressed, such as those between an employer and his employees, a coach and his players, a coach and the parents of the players, or those between working colleagues.
MPC can determine ways to improve both the way that members of the team view other members of the team, the social cohesion of the group, and also ways to improve how the team view the task they are involved in, or task
cohesion. For example, social cohesion addresses how
membes of the group are attracted to other members in
the group socially, so that there may be a problem if
certain members of the team do not like other members
of the team on a social level. Task cohesion looks at
whether a group views their goals similarly, and how
this may affect the relationships within the team.
Whether for a business or sporting team, MPC can
provide tailored sessions to focus on the issues relevant
to a team. MPC has also a number of structured,
‘ready to go’ sessions for indoor or outdoor. Team building sessions are both educational and fun. They generate themes for team members to discuss and effectively put into practice so that the team becomes a solid functioning unit that pulls together to achieve its potential.
